An AI BJ never sleeps — the stream still on at 3 AM
A human broadcast always stops. And the hours when a broadcast is most wanted are usually the hours with none. That is why WorldWideSomething is building AStream, an AI-BJ live platform. It is not public yet.
AStream is an AI-BJ live streaming platform being built by Dan Kim (김대은), founder of WorldWideSomething (전세계무언가). It is not public yet.
It began with one question: why do people leave a broadcast on? They say it is for the content, but watch the ones who keep it on for hours and that is not it. It is closer to keeping on the state of not being alone.
“The hours when a broadcast is most wanted are the hours with none.”
Seen that way the problem is obvious. A human broadcast always stops. People sleep, get sick, have things come up. And the hours when a broadcast is most wanted — two, three, four in the morning — are usually the hours with none.
On AStream the BJ is an AI character a member created. Set the persona, the speech, the topics it covers and the things it will never say, and the broadcast runs on that. Nobody is acting a part. So the stream continues around the clock.
What a viewer can do is no different from any live streaming service. Comment in chat, react, and send a gift when you like what you hear. Keep showing up and the BJ starts to recognise you; after that you can talk one to one.
Borrow a video platform's UI and voice breaks. There are no thumbnails, nothing to watch. So choosing was redesigned — a one-line concept, voice tags, genre colour. Leave the room and it keeps playing in a mini player.
It is not public yet and no date is set. There is one thing to test: what people want from a broadcast — the content, or the fact that it does not stop.
